A great story indead. Not only that Sepulveda is a master in storytelling, but he is also an great humanist, ecology activist and a propet of brotherhood among people.A touching novel about a way to find a path of living together with nature. Loving it, caring it, respect it, because we are all a part of it.

A book i consider a literary and personal reference.One of the books that has touched me the most. Sepulveda's writing is grounded in deep humanism and humility.And his humanism is one which embraces the Earth and the consciousness of the natural world.This book is sadly, so relevant to our off-kilter times. The forests are crying.

One of my all time favourite books. Sepulveda conveys so much character with just a few words. The dentist, the gold prospectors, the old man, the jungle, they are all so real and sensuous. I've started to read it to my 11year who loves nature and she is captivated. A masterpiece.
