Not particularly thrilling

I liked the beginning, it was very promising. A young girl moving to an unknown island, all alone. Her power seemed pretty interesting too. Becca can hear thoughts, but not complete ones, only words or half-sentences. I mostly enjoyed reading the 100 first pages. Then I got a little bored, because things seemed to be advancing quite slowly... and in the end, you don't get a lot of answers so it's quite disappointing. I know it's only the first book of a whole series, but I feel like I would have wanted to have a few more answers because right now I just can't be bothered to wait book n°8 to discover them!
