one of my all time favourite books...

This book is a dream. I've owned previous editions and this 4th edition has been well updated. The presentation of information is uniformly good and the pictures/tables are all apposite. The only weak areas of the book are parts of the PD sections and the acute renal failure section. Overall, as a nephrology trainee this book is indispensable and although pricey, it is a worthwhile investment and a pleasure to read and learn from.I think it contains everything you would need to know for the renal speciality exam although I must admit when i sat that exam i tended to use smaller books because time suddenly seems rather limited when facing an exam and working fulltime. That said, there were questions which couldn't be answered from the oxford handbook of nephrology which would have been easy to answer from this book. Nevertheless I passed without major reference to this book.

Extremely good book

This is an extremely good and well written book. Highly recommended. It is a must have-&-read book for all trainees in Renal Medicine. Excellent illustrations.
