I was inspired to buy this book after meeting Michael Krumm on a work trip, and I needed to research the sport further to get an insight into the world of motor-racing and understand the technical and performance side of the sport. In person, whilst clearly a very experienced and highly-respected driver with a great technical knowledge, he talks about motor racing in a very accessible manner - and this shows in the book, making it a very enjoyable read.For a non-racing 'layperson', the book is rich in great explanations of technical terms, setting out the principles behind driving, the sport and how to improve performance - including physical and mental tips as well as technical/mechanical. For anyone wanting an insight into and overview of motorsport, there is probably more detail than you need, but it is well-written and easy to follow making it quite fascinating. It is also a great reference and textbook for research. I would also recommend it as a great book for racing fans, mechanics, and drivers - it offers a great insight into the world of motor racing at all levels.In the book, the 6 sections are: Basic knowledge & Weight Transfer, Traditional Driving Techniques, Competition knowledge, Setting up the car and Additional Knowledge. It covers everything from tyres, weather conditions, racing lines and physical and mental well-being. It is well illustrated with diagrams and photos supporting the text - the right balance in my view.

Quality book. Broken down into excellent sections and well worth a read for anyone interested in racecraft or improving their own skills.

The proof is in the pudding ad they say!Bought for my son-in-law at Xmas and from opening it was lovinglycherished and immediately read much to my daughter's disgust!
