A GOOD INTRODUCTION TO analogue electronics

Both analogue electronics and circuit theory are difficult concepts for the average student,in this book they may have cracked this barrier. The topics are well presented giving the student a clear introduction to analogue electronic principles.The text includes lots of examples. It begins with an introduction to semiconductors and developes on this foundation to provide the reader with an progressive,clear and extensive range of topics in analogue electronics and their associated circuit theory .PSpice is used in the book giving the student an insight into its use as a tool for designing and simulating circuits.The EWB(Electronic Work Bench)CD ROM is included with the text.The student with an average maths background will be in a position to cope with most if not all the calculations in the book.The audience for the book would seem to me to be first-second year college students studying analogue electronics. For the student who wants to get a handle on the area of analogue electronics,I would recommend this book. PS The paperback edition is on sale now!

Highly Recommended for Analogue electronics!

This book was recommended to me when i just started my electronics degree. I have nearly finished my second year and the number of times that i have found myself turning to this book for help has suprised me. Also the result that i get is actually very helpful whereas other books are good at covering certain topics better than others. This book has never once left me still questioning when i pick my head up. The quality in detail is remarkably clear and doesn't bog you down. Don't be fooled into thinking however that this book will cover digital as well as analogue. Since a module can cover both digital and analouge i would advise another text for the digital side. The book covers digital devices such as adders but doesn't go into detail of their workings. For example, binary and truth tables are rare also combinational and sequential logic are not included in the text. If you need help on transistor theory then this is the book to turn to!! Even though it is probably the most expensive book that i have ever bought it is also probably the best that i have ever bought.

I have bought this book as a circuit reference, haven't had much chances to actually use it, but can tell from reading through it that it is a very good book
